I’m Lovin’ it… only halfway.
Too often I look at campaigns and ask, “why didn’t they?” Here is an example of what I mean.
McDonalds a little while back had a decent campaign built around business professionals leaving their jobs to become “Sandwich Board” promoters. It was based on the idea of a higher calling to leave the boring 9-5 life behind for something more interesting.
The question I have is “why, during this campaign, didn’t they hire people to dress-up as business men/women and wear the sandwich boards from their commercials in real life business areas?” Too often campaigns are built for one media; meaning opportunities are lost. Any time a business can take a campaign, reach out from the television and plop it into a real life situation, they’re greatly reinforcing that campaign, and extending it’s visibility. In my opinion McDonald made a Super Size oversight by not cashing in on this Golden opportunity.
